Johnathan Cousins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from John Paul Houghton in the 21st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Stony Stratford FC's Len Bowland got a free kick in the 24th minute. Nicky Fitter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Len Bowland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johnny Slater having to interfere. Johnny Slater didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Len Bowland went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Rio Forster fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johnathan Cousins having to interfere. Johnathan Cousins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rio Forster, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Nicky Fitter could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Johnny Slater made a huge save. Travis Baldwin hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Berwick Upon Tweed's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Berwick Upon Tweed's Martyn Christensen got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Len Bowland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Len Bowland in the 57th minute of play forced Berwick Upon Tweed's goalkeeper Johnny Slater to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 59 minutes, Ken Waite mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Berwick Upon Tweed and the Stony Stratford FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Stony Stratford FC's Johnathan Cousins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rio Forster in the 75th minute of play. Martyn Christensen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johnathan Cousins having to interfere. When Nicky Fitter came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Stony Stratford FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicky Fitter couldn't finish the play.
