Spectators: 6540 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1400, VIP seats: 140) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Glyn Oliver took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 2nd minute, Ruben White reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ashley Broadhurst. The goal made the score 1-0. Antony Kenna's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 9thth minute, Ashley Broadhurst skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Barry Nailor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cody Oldham having to interfere. Horsham's Ashley Broadhurst played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruben White in the 26th minute of play. Antony Kenna could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Ashley Broadhurst made a huge save. After some careless play in the Horsham defense, Antony Kenna kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ashley Broadhurst. The Horsham fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ashley Broadhurst should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Horsham's Wes Pettifer got a free kick in the 36th minute. With a little luck, Horsham's Ashley Broadhurst got control of the ball when Antony Kenna tried to sneak it across the goal line. Barry Nailor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pierre Cuss fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cody Oldham having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After 57 played minutes Stone got a freekick which was hit by Quentin Dunning. Barry Nailor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cody Oldham having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Barry Nailor got free with Cody Oldham in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 67th minute of the match, Barry Nailor got a very nice opportunity to score, but Cody Oldham was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 71st minute, Horsham's Glyn Oliver dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. If Glyn Oliver had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Barry Nailor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Cody Oldham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rich Bailey during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Stone booed when Horsham was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rich Bailey didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 82 played minutes, Stone's Joey Taylor shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ashley Broadhurst came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Stone reached it. In the 83rd play minute Barry Nailor came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Cody Oldham. 2-3. In the 87th minute, Stone's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Barry Nailor fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Glyn Oliver fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cody Oldham having to interfere. A collision led to Stone getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Benji Kitchen hit a great ball. Cody Oldham made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Glyn Oliver in the 90th minute of play. Glyn Oliver's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cody Oldham read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. Ruben White struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Ashley Broadhurst didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stone.
