Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Glen Callery got the match started through his kick off. Glen Callery fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Owen Garforth having to interfere. In the 5th minute Bob Milner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Owen Garforth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 6th minute, Bob Milner made a precise shot to the right of Owen Garforth. Ellul FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 10thth minute of the game Bob Milner who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ellul FC's Owen Garforth was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hugh Blunt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. George Cheswick showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kurt Fenton, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. In the 19th minute, Ellul FC's Hugh Blunt dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Reg Hazledine charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Reg Hazledine the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 22 played minutes Ellul FC got a freekick which was hit by Reg Hazledine. Reg Hazledine got his second yellow card in the match during the 23rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Reg Hazledine kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Owen Garforth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bob Milner in the 27th minute of the match. The Princess FC fans' excitement grew in the 29th match minute when Princess FC's Glen Callery looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When Bob Milner came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Princess FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bob Milner couldn't finish the play. After 37 played minutes Ellul FC got a freekick which was hit by Dale Walker. Steve Haskell struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Owen Garforth didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Princess FC. Glen Callery received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Owen Garforth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dennis Bowen hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The wind increased when Hugh Blunt made the kick off in the second half. George Cheswick made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kurt Fenton in the 54th minute of play. Ellul FC's Owen Garforth proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Ellul FC from getting a goal against them. In the 64th minute, Bob Milner got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A hard shot 66 in the game by Bob Milner from a close distance when the talented Owen Garforth managed to make a qualified save. Ellul FC's players were relieved. Frank Nash hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Steve Haskell charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Steve Haskell the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 71st minute of the game. One of Princess FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ellul FC:s goal. The supporters of Princess FC booed when Ellul FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kurt Fenton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Princess FC's Glen Callery got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 99th minute Princess FC were awarded a corner. Steve Haskell went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Steve Haskell almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ellul FC's Owen Garforth did a great save.
