Jez Dyson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Glen Callery, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Wakefield Vikings's Jez Dyson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Glen Callery in the 28th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Princess FC's Iain Higson got a free kick in the 34th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bob Milner in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jez Dyson saved Wakefield Vikings from getting behind. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

53 minutes into the game, Robert Brookman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wakefield Vikings's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Princess FC the free kick. After 53 played minutes Wakefield Vikings got a freekick which was hit by Robert Brookman. Bob Milner in the 54thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jez Dyson, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Glen Callery had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 62 minutes into the match, Wakefield Vikings's goalkeeper Jez Dyson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bob Milner. A collision led to Princess FC getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Frank Nash hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Wakefield Vikings's zone, Glen Callery stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jez Dyson came out of the goal and Glen Callery tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 76th minute, Glen Callery got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 80th minute Glen Callery shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jez Dyson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
