The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rex Metcalf showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Simon Mawson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rex Metcalf in the 20th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Moseley City's Garth Garforth got a free kick in the 24th minute. Rex Metcalf fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simon Mawson having to interfere. After a rather tough play, red army fc's Frankie Atkins got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Howard Faith stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Keiran Toulson's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. Howard Faith showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kristian Hook, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Rex Metcalf kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Simon Mawson. That made the score 2-0 in the 41 minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

53 minutes into the match, Rex Metcalf had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Simon Mawson. red army fc's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rex Metcalf was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Rex Metcalf received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Simon Mawson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Garth Garforth managed to get in a good position for a shot. Moseley City's supporters rose to their feet, but Garth Garforth was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Simon Mawson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When red army fc's Kristian Hook in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Moseley City's goalie prevented a goal. If Kristian Hook had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Moseley City's zone, Keiran Toulson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Howard Faith came out of the goal and Keiran Toulson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Will Corrigan in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Simon Mawson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Keiran Toulson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute Kristian Hook shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Howard Faith saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 89 minutes into the game, Rex Metcalf cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Simon Mawson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Will Corrigan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simon Mawson having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the Moseley City players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
