In the 11th minute Dale York shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Howard Lovell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jack Hogg did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Chaz Fitzgerald 13 minutes into the match. If Orson Clemence had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Howard Lovell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Russell Haxby in the 26th minute of the match. Oscar Waple sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Oscar Waple fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Howard Lovell having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Russell Haxby managed to get in a good position for a shot. Karpaty Krosno's supporters rose to their feet, but Russell Haxby was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Howard Lovell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Howard Lovell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dale York in the 37th minute of the match. Howard Lovell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Russell Haxby, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. When Dale York came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Karpaty Krosno fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dale York couldn't finish the play. After 42 played minutes Chorley Grosvenor got a freekick which was hit by Wes Phimister. Oscar Waple sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The wind increased when Ryan Kinsey made the kick off in the second half. When Oscar Waple came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Karpaty Krosno fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oscar Waple couldn't finish the play. If Oscar Waple had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Howard Lovell was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dale York showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 67 minute of play. Marty Blake charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marty Blake the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Chorley Grosvenor getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Russell Haxby who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 72ndth minute tested the skills of Howard Lovell when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Russell Haxby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Chorley Grosvenor defense, Oscar Waple kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Howard Lovell. The Chorley Grosvenor fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Howard Lovell should have stopped the shot. 84 minutes into the match, Chorley Grosvenor's goalkeeper Howard Lovell had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Oscar Waple. Russell Haxby might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Howard Lovell. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Russell Haxby ran back to his position shaking his head. Howard Lovell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dale York in the 87th minute of play. Howard Lovell didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Oscar Waple went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Oscar Waple received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Howard Lovell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Karpaty Krosno's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
