Micheal Warner struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Howard Lovell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tottenham City. Howard Lovell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Conan Woodman, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Micheal Warner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Howard Lovell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ryan Kinsey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl Forbes having to interfere. Ryan Kinsey recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 17 minutes into the match, Tottenham City's goal looked a bit too open when Gaz Beecham came free, but Karl Forbes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Karl Forbes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ryan Kinsey in the 19th minute of play. Howard Lovell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conan Woodman in the 21st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Tottenham City's Sean Cadwallader got a free kick in the 22nd minute. The supporters of Chorley Grosvenor booed when Tottenham City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sam Tabb didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 26 in the game by Micheal Warner from a close distance when the talented Howard Lovell managed to make a qualified save. Chorley Grosvenor's players were relieved. Chorley Grosvenor's Howard Lovell proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Chorley Grosvenor from getting a goal against them. Micheal Warner could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Howard Lovell made a huge save. 32 minutes into the match, Chorley Grosvenor's goal looked a bit too open when Conan Woodman came free, but Howard Lovell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Ryan Kinsey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Karl Forbes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ryan Kinsey in the 36th minute of the match. Jack Hogg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Karl Forbes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee felt a red card was in order, 41 minutes into the game, when Abraham King put in a rough tackle. After 40 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Chorley Grosvenor! Marty Blake received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Karl Forbes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

After a defensive mix-up in Chorley Grosvenor's zone, Sam Tabb stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Howard Lovell came out of the goal and Sam Tabb tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Chorley Grosvenor's Jack Hogg got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Conan Woodman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Howard Lovell having to interfere. When Micheal Warner came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Tottenham City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Micheal Warner couldn't finish the play. In the 63rd match minute, Chorley Grosvenor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Tolley to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Micheal Warner in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Howard Lovell saved Chorley Grosvenor from getting behind. Chorley Grosvenor's Marty Blake was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 85th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. When the match had gone on for 90 minutes, Gaz Beecham took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Karl Forbes to make any attempt to save it. The Chorley Grosvenor supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Chorley Grosvenor would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
