Howard Lovell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ross Alcock, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. 36 minutes into the game, Wellington FC's Fitz Stevens nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Howard Lovell made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Syd Banks showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ryan Kinsey in the 79th minute of the match. Fitz Stevens succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-4 in the 82nd playminute. Fitz Stevens blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Howard Lovell having to make a save. Howard Lovell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ross Alcock, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 91 minutes, Fitz Stevens made it 0-5 with a short kick to the right side. Chorley Grosvenor's Howard Lovell tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.
