With his leg Bruce Ingram managed to avoid a goal in the 21stth minute, when Oakham United's Frank Moorhouse fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 24 played minutes Sport Aveiro e Benfica got a freekick which was hit by Seb Appleton. 25 minutes into the match, Sport Aveiro e Benfica's goal looked a bit too open when Donny Garnett came free, but Bruce Ingram reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Frank Moorhouse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frank Moorhouse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruce Ingram having to interfere. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sport Aveiro e Benfica's goalkeeper Bruce Ingram, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Oscar Neville had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Seb Appleton stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 57 minutes into the game, Dom Lowe was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Oakham United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sport Aveiro e Benfica the free kick. 59 minutes into the match, Frank Moorhouse notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Sport Aveiro e Benfica's Bruce Ingram. Bruce Ingram was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Bruce Ingram took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Moorhouse, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 68 minutes of play, Oakham United's Frank Moorhouse made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bruce Ingram was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bruce Ingram showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donny Garnett, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. If Seb Appleton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute, Seb Appleton reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Noel Tandy. The goal made the score 3-1. Noel Tandy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Seb Appleton in the 89th minute of play. If Denzil Beattie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 92 minutes into the game, Josh Ploughman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Oakham United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sport Aveiro e Benfica the free kick. After a rather tough play, Oakham United's Josh Ploughman got a free kick in the 93rd minute. When Seb Appleton came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Sport Aveiro e Benfica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Seb Appleton couldn't finish the play. Bruce Ingram showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donny Garnett in the 97th minute of the match. Sport Aveiro e Benfica's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
