Middlesbrough Town's Marcus Vine played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ben Gavan in the 3rd minute of play. If Carl Singleton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 8th minute of the match, Mike Barnes tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Marcus Vine saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 9 minutes into the match, Middlesbrough Town's goalkeeper Marcus Vine had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Calum Jones. When Ivor Tully came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Middlesbrough Town fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivor Tully couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Calum Jones in the 15th minute of play forced Middlesbrough Town's goalkeeper Marcus Vine to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
