Marcus Vine made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benji Blunt in the 13th minute of play. In the 17th minute of the match, Noel Hitchen got a very nice opportunity to score, but Marcus Vine was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Olimpiaa Elblag's Benji Blunt slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marcus Vine. That made the score 2-0 after 24 minutes of play. Dave Maxell made in the 36th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Middlesbrough Town's Kieran Butterfield. Kieran Butterfield hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. After 38 played minutes Olimpiaa Elblag got a freekick which was hit by Pierre Sharples. Bill Gilroy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carl Singleton, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. 41 minutes into the game, Carl Singleton cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Bill Gilroy was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Carl Singleton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Middlesbrough Town's supporters rose to their feet, but Carl Singleton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bill Gilroy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benji Blunt in the 49th minute of play forced Middlesbrough Town's goalkeeper Marcus Vine to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Benji Blunt stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Olimpiaa Elblag's goalkeeper Bill Gilroy, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Carl Singleton might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bill Gilroy. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carl Singleton ran back to his position shaking his head. Bill Gilroy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivor Tully in the 62nd minute of the match. 66 minutes into the match, Philip Collins dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Bill Gilroy, 2-2. Marcus Vine showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robin Lamb, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Middlesbrough Town's zone, Benji Blunt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcus Vine came out of the goal and Benji Blunt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rex Butterfield kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. In the 78th minute Benji Blunt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcus Vine saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 82nd play minute Carl Singleton came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Bill Gilroy. 2-3. Carl Singleton could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Bill Gilroy made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Philip Collins managed to get in a good position for a shot. Middlesbrough Town's supporters rose to their feet, but Philip Collins was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bill Gilroy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carl Singleton blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bill Gilroy having to make a save. Carl Singletons short, quick shot in the 96thth minute got Bill Gilroy to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a defensive mix-up in Olimpiaa Elblag's zone, Philip Collins stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bill Gilroy came out of the goal and Philip Collins tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Middlesbrough Town's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
