The audience thought a goal was coming when Gerry Brooke got free with Neil Jobson in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 24th minute, Gerry Brooke made a precise shot to the right of Neil Jobson. Champs's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Champs's Jools Cook got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Beinn Mulligan hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. In the 41stth minute of the game Ash Gamble who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Perton FC's Nathan Chilton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Perton FC's Nathan Chilton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ash Gamble in the 47th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jools Cook stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 50th minute, Leo Jobson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Drew Tonkin during the 54th minute. After 62 played minutes Perton FC got a freekick which was hit by Damion Renton. 65 minutes into the game, Craig Godfrey was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Perton FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Champs the free kick. Dominik Ridsdale placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! After 69 played minutes Perton FC got a freekick which was hit by Shawn Garner-Currie. When Gerry Brooke came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Perton FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gerry Brooke couldn't finish the play. Shawn Garner-Currie charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Shawn Garner-Currie the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 75th minute, Dominik Ridsdale fired a really elegant long shot, but Nathan Chilton threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. Jools Cook fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nathan Chilton having to interfere. After 83 played minutes Perton FC got a freekick which was hit by Noel Lane. Champs's Jools Cook got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ash Gamble sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. For all the effort they put into the match, the Champs players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Perton FC.
