Karl Amos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Johnathan Pritchard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Kingswear's zone, Alf Akins stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Den Granger came out of the goal and Alf Akins tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alf Akins to make the kick off. If Alf Akins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Kingswear getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Tris Brimble hit a great ball. Den Granger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alf Akins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 60 minutes into the match, Kingswear's goal looked a bit too open when Grant Davies came free, but Den Granger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Den Granger came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Greenwich's Grant Davies. But to his dismay, Grant Davies quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. In the 82nd minute, Karl Amos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Karl Amos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Johnathan Pritchard read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. 86 minutes into the game, Gareth Flemming was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kingswear's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Greenwich the free kick. Den Granger was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl Amos in the 95th minute of play forced Greenwich's goalkeeper Johnathan Pritchard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee ended the match the Greenwich players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
