The supporters of Todmorden AFC booed when Hurst Green was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jerry Elvins didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hurst Green's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Todmorden AFC the free kick. A collision led to Hurst Green getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Chesney Courtney hit a great ball. Josh Ely received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Zane Colley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Hurst Green's Kristian Fearns got a free kick in the 24th minute. Zane Colley was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Nial Denham. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jerry Storry in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rueben Willoughby saved Todmorden AFC from getting behind. Junior Needham kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute Chesney Courtney shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rueben Willoughby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Hurst Green's zone, Josh Ely stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zane Colley came out of the goal and Josh Ely tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 43 played minutes Hurst Green got a freekick which was hit by Alfred Litchfield. Zane Colley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Josh Ely, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Josh Ely in the 51st minute of play forced Hurst Green's goalkeeper Zane Colley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Todmorden AFC's Rueben Willoughby proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Todmorden AFC from getting a goal against them. Zane Colley came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Todmorden AFC's Sol Cooke. But to his dismay, Sol Cooke quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Josh Ely sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 71st minute, Chesney Courtney fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Through an outstanding action, after 71 minutes, Rueben Willoughby successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Zane Colley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Josh Ely in the 74th minute of play. 79 minutes into the match, Hurst Green's goal looked a bit too open when Sol Cooke came free, but Zane Colley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hurst Green's Zane Colley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sol Cooke in the 81st minute of play. Josh Ely fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zane Colley having to interfere.
