Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Karl Amos started the match with the kick off. Stu Woodcock recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Kingswear's zone, Stu Woodcock stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Den Granger came out of the goal and Stu Woodcock tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Anthony Nethercoat charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anthony Nethercoat the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Karl Amos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 19 played minutes Kingswear got a freekick which was hit by Leroy Archer. In the 20th minute, Ricky Mayfield sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Kingswear's Den Granger didn't even have to move. Leroy Archer hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Blair Boston blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Den Granger having to make a save. A hard shot by Derek Clark from long distance, 28 minutes into the match, got Den Granger's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 30 minutes into the match, Stu Woodcock dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Den Granger, 1-0. Leroy Archer kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. When Stu Woodcock came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Cheshunt fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stu Woodcock couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Kingswear getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Richard Jefferson hit a great ball. The corner led Cheshunt's Ricky Mayfield to fire away a dangerous shot which Den Granger despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stu Woodcock made a kick off. Den Granger stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stu Woodcock's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. Stu Woodcock received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Den Granger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stu Woodcock in the 63rd minute of play forced Kingswear's goalkeeper Den Granger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 66 minutes into the match, Stu Woodcock had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Den Granger. Kingswear's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stu Woodcock was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. The supporters of Kingswear booed when Cheshunt was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Derek Clark didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 82nd minute, Charles Slater ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Den Granger was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. If Blair Boston had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Cheshunt had won after a very even match.
