The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kristian Beerman during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Rapid Bucharest getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Kristian Beerman hit a great ball. Simon Bilton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Steve Stevens in the 12th minute of the match. Victor Hallam hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. If Victor Hallam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by John Frizzell during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Barcelona Harborougf FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. John Frizzell hit a great ball. Dominik Foggarty received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Curtis Coburn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th minute Steve Stevens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simon Bilton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Simon Bilton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 35 minutes into the match, Barcelona Harborougf FC's Carl Denham broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Lance Lambourne recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 45 played minutes Barcelona Harborougf FC got a freekick which was hit by Steve Stevens. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Steve Stevens made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Victor Hallam managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rapid Bucharest's supporters rose to their feet, but Victor Hallam was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Curtis Coburn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Joel Walters struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Simon Bilton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barcelona Harborougf FC. Rapid Bucharest's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Barcelona Harborougf FC the free kick. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Steve Stevens couldn't finish the play. Curtis Coburn made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lance Lambourne in the 78th minute. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rapid Bucharest's goalkeeper Simon Bilton, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Barcelona Harborougf FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Rapid Bucharest's performance. The match ended with a win for Rapid Bucharest.
