Pirroni-cum-Moze City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Richard Caine was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Shawn Bettney in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ricky Philips prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 30th minute Shawn Bettney shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricky Philips saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 37 minutes into the match, Eston's goalkeeper Ricky Philips had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jason Forrest. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Garry Lawton made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Eston's Gerry Dry got a free kick in the 55th minute. Pirroni-cum-Moze City's Jason Forrest got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 62nd minute, Eric Hudson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 63 minutes into the match, Eston's goal looked a bit too open when Jason Forrest came free, but Ricky Philips reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65th match minute, Eston was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damion Monk to maneuver through the defense. In the 68thth minute of the game Shawn Bettney who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Eston's Ricky Philips was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 70 minutes into the match, Shawn Bettney notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Eston's Ricky Philips. Ricky Philips was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Shawn Bettney had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Pirroni-cum-Moze City had played much better football throughout.
