Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Garry Lawton kicked off to start the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chip Warner in the 3rd minute of play forced Eston's goalkeeper Ricky Philips to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8th minute of the match, Chip Warner tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ricky Philips saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 9th minute, Den Bishop hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 10th minute of the match Gerry Dry shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Leroy Seagrave showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Stevie Soussan took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ricky Philips. Ricky Philips dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Garry Lawton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Leroy Seagrave tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 26th minute, Gerry Dry sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Bedlington's Leroy Seagrave didn't even have to move. Chip Warner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Ricky Philips tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stevie Soussan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Ricky Philips made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Stevie Soussan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bedlington's supporters rose to their feet, but Stevie Soussan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricky Philips breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

Eston's Rueben Sugden got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eston's Ricky Philips played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stevie Soussan in the 58th minute of play. If Damion Monk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ricky Philips made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marty Lemerond in the 66th minute of play. In the 78th minute, Marty Lemerond left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bedlington fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Stevie Soussan's late challenge caught a Eston's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Stevie Soussan helped the player get up and apologised. Ricky Philips showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stevie Soussan in the 87th minute of the match. If Chip Warner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eston's Ricky Philips played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stevie Soussan in the 90th minute of play. Ricky Philips didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marty Lemerond went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. When the referee ended the match the Bedlington players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
