When Antony Bzeu came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Hiltingbury AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antony Bzeu couldn't finish the play. Nath Little got in the 17th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Mark Charles handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Nath Little sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 20th minute Nath Little shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mark Charles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mark Charles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nath Little, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carl Guest charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carl Guest the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Carl Guest hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. After 31 minutes, Lloyd Hedley made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Hiltingbury AFC's Chaz Wedlock tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Nath Little blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mark Charles having to make a save. 37 minutes into the match, Isle Of Dogs City's goal looked a bit too open when Antony Bzeu came free, but Mark Charles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Nath Little had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Martyn Coogan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Nath Little sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Hiltingbury AFC's Nath Little slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mark Charles. That made the score 1-3 after 71 minutes of play.
