Ozzy Willetts took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antony Bzeu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as R10 Ashurst's Les Wishart slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Chaz Wedlock. That made the score 1-0 after 11 minutes of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Allan Powell got free with Chaz Wedlock in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nath Little in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ozzy Willetts saved R10 Ashurst from getting behind. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind R10 Ashurst's goalkeeper Ozzy Willetts, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hiltingbury AFC's Nath Little got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Antony Bzeu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Calum Galloway during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to R10 Ashurst getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Nial Bellamy hit a great ball. If Allan Powell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Les Wishart received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Chaz Wedlock tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 38 played minutes Hiltingbury AFC got a freekick which was hit by Louie Dry. The Hiltingbury AFC fans' excitement grew in the 42nd match minute when Hiltingbury AFC's Nath Little looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The audience was convinced that Les Wishart's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Chaz Wedlock was relentless in the 48th minute of the game. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nath Little stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hiltingbury AFC's Chaz Wedlock played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Allan Powell in the 57th minute of play. Edward Dale took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 85th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Chaz Wedlock. Hiltingbury AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 90th minute, Nath Little fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ozzy Willetts, passed just outside the right post. A collision led to Hiltingbury AFC getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Jeff Selby hit a great ball. Hiltingbury AFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
