Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Charlie Huxtable got the match started through his kick off. If Bruce Nailor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 2nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers John Paul Paterson in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Oliver Naisbitt saved Norby City from getting behind. Bruce Nailor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 15th minute of the match, Charlie Huxtable tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Malcolm McCunnie saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 17 minutes, Steve Rush mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Norby City and the Hawkcombe players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 17th minute, Steve Rush hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 18th minute John Paul Paterson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oliver Naisbitt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Donny Perryman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Malcolm McCunnie having to interfere. Zaq Hornsby was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 26 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Norby City fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 25th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Hawkcombe a penalty, 28 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Kasey Butterfield, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Norby City's Oliver Naisbitt. 0-1. Oliver Naisbitt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John Paul Paterson, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. After 36th play minutes John Paul Paterson shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Oliver Naisbitt and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 40th minute, John Paul Paterson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Bruce Nailor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. John Paul Paterson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Oliver Naisbitt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. John Paul Paterson was the one to do the kick off. Oliver Naisbitt made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Bruce Nailor sent off a good shot on target. Bruce Nailor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Oliver Naisbitt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Oliver Naisbitt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John Paul Paterson in the 59th minute of play. 63 minutes into the game, Hawkcombe's John Paul Paterson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Oliver Naisbitt made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Hawkcombe's Malcolm McCunnie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donny Perryman in the 70th minute of play. John Paul Paterson struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Oliver Naisbitt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hawkcombe. If John Paul Paterson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Norby City's Kristopher Wills got a free kick in the 74th minute. The supporters of Hawkcombe booed when Norby City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Charlie Huxtable didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, John Paul Paterson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hawkcombe's supporters rose to their feet, but John Paul Paterson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oliver Naisbitt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 88 minutes into the match, Hawkcombe's John Paul Paterson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Oliver Naisbitt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 95th match minute, Hawkcombe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ashley Charie to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Norby City's Tod Anson tried to score from far away in the 95th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Hawkcombe eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
