Ricky Dowdall ran back to his position shaking his head. Malcolm McCunnie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damon Chipperfield in the 18th minute of the match. 21 minutes into the match, Hawkcombe's goal looked a bit too open when Ricky Dowdall came free, but Malcolm McCunnie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 31st minute, Damon Chipperfield got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Damon Chipperfield struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Malcolm McCunnie didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Long Hanborough. John Paul Paterson hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Victor Little kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. John Paul Paterson was the one to do the kick off. John Paul Paterson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victor Key having to interfere. Roy Anderson hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. A collision led to Long Hanborough getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Paddy Allwright hit a great ball. Victor Key showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from John Paul Paterson in the 69th minute of the match. In the 70th minute John Paul Paterson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Key saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Long Hanborough booed when Hawkcombe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Derek Weston didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 75th minute Damon Chipperfield shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Malcolm McCunnie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Long Hanborough's Victor Key played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Paul Paterson in the 83rd minute of play. Bruce Nailor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victor Key having to interfere. Bruce Nailor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Victor Key tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Damon Chipperfield had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Malcolm McCunnie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damon Chipperfield in the 95th minute of play. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
