Howard Bevan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sid Lumb in the 14th minute of the match. Denny Henry struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Howard Bevan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Charlbury. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Crispin Dawes put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Romeo Davies. In the 26th minute of the match, Denny Henry got a very nice opportunity to score, but Howard Bevan was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The wind increased when Crispin Dawes made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Andrew Kalischer in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Romeo Davies saved Charlbury from getting behind. 54 minutes into the match, Charlbury's goal looked a bit too open when Crispin Dawes came free, but Romeo Davies reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Andrew Kalischer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andrew Kalischer got free with Romeo Davies in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Crispin Dawes came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Cinderford Town fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Crispin Dawes couldn't finish the play. The Charlbury fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Cinderford Town were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
