Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Alfred Boyd took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 4 played minutes Plumstead City got a freekick which was hit by Simon Corby. Mitch Haywood's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Denis Winter read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. Mitch Haywood fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denis Winter having to interfere. Ron Anson's late challenge caught a Plumstead City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ron Anson helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Morpeth getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Ron Anson hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfred Boyd in the 20th minute of play forced Morpeth's goalkeeper Greg Sissons to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfred Boyd fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Greg Sissons having to interfere. Brad King took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 24th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Greg Sissons. Morpeth's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Plumstead City's Alfred Boyd got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alan Hodges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Greg Sissons having to interfere. Trey Bannister hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Plumstead City's Brad King couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 35th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Morpeth. Alan Hodges could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Greg Sissons made a huge save. A hard shot 42 in the game by Alan Hodges from a close distance when the talented Greg Sissons managed to make a qualified save. Morpeth's players were relieved. Alan Hodges was extremely unlucky when he, in the 45th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. If Alan Hodges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mitch Haywood made a kick off. Alan Hodges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Greg Sissons having to interfere. 53 minutes into the game, Frankie Cambridge was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Morpeth's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Plumstead City the free kick. In the 54th match minute, Morpeth was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frankie Cambridge to maneuver through the defense. Simon Corby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Greg Sissons tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Alfred Boyd fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Plumstead City's protests and gave Alfred Boyd a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Morpeth booed when Plumstead City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfred Boyd didn't get a good kick on the ball. Simon Corby's late challenge caught a Morpeth's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Simon Corby helped the player get up and apologised. After 79 minutes of play, Plumstead City's Alan Hodges made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Greg Sissons was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Simon Corby managed to get in a good position for a shot. Plumstead City's supporters rose to their feet, but Simon Corby was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Greg Sissons breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Greg Sissons made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alan Hodges in the 86th minute of play. Ray Laurie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Greg Sissons made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Graham Kershaw in the 95th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Plumstead City's Alan Hodges got a free kick in the 96th minute. Plumstead City's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
