The supporters of Ealing United booed when No Name Boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rufus Crowther didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 13th minute, Ealing United's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Cody Harland fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Terry Winehouse got free with Tom Boulding in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Terry Winehouse managed to get in a good position for a shot. No Name Boys's supporters rose to their feet, but Terry Winehouse was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tom Boulding breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 24th minute, Cody Harland got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 28th minute, Ralf Kennedy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 30th match minute, Ealing United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eddy Crowell to maneuver through the defense. Robin Norton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Robin Norton struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Charles Toulson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ealing United. Robin Norton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charles Toulson having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Robin Norton in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Charles Toulson saved No Name Boys from getting behind. 47 minutes into the match, Eddy Crowell had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Charles Toulson. No Name Boys's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eddy Crowell was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cody Harland made a kick off. Tom Boulding showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cody Harland in the 55th minute of the match. Nigel Walmsley hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Eddy Crowell might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Charles Toulson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eddy Crowell ran back to his position shaking his head. Billy Woodman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cody Harland in the 64th minute of play forced Ealing United's goalkeeper Tom Boulding to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tom Boulding came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by No Name Boys's Cody Harland. But to his dismay, Cody Harland quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Charles Toulson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ralf Kennedy in the 72nd minute of the match. Eddy Crowell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Charles Toulson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Robin Norton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cody Harland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tom Boulding having to interfere. Barney Meade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 87th minute, Robin Norton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Robin Norton came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Ealing United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Robin Norton couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Ealing United players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
