Bill Lawless's late challenge caught a Burscough AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. If Stewart Edmonton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute, Graeme Ploughman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luke Holdsworth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kenny Kenworthy in the 47th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Graeme Ploughman made the kick off in the second half. Burscough AFC's Luke Holdsworth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Graeme Ploughman in the 52nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Ashley Clifton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Özgür Kilic was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. Stewart Edmonton succeeded in the game's 80th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-0. Burscough AFC's Stewart Edmonton got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Özgür Kilic showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ashley Clifton in the 89th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ashley Clifton in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Özgür Kilic saved Owlham Athletic from getting behind. Özgür Kilic showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ashley Clifton, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute.
