The goalkeeper, Greg Seal, was totally fooled by Beckton United's Barry Vaughan, who 15 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Calum Wicks fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Greg Seal having to interfere. 29 minutes into the game, Beckton United's Calum Wicks nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Greg Seal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. If Dean Stonebridge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Doug Beale in the 34th minute of play forced Stubbington FC's goalkeeper Greg Seal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dan Phippard's late challenge caught a Beckton United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dan Phippard helped the player get up and apologised. Doug Beale's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Greg Seal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. The supporters of Beckton United booed when Stubbington FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuel Sharp didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Stubbington FC's zone, Calum Wicks stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Greg Seal came out of the goal and Calum Wicks tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 47 minutes into the match, Stubbington FC's goal looked a bit too open when Doug Beale came free, but Greg Seal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Doug Beale stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Greg Seal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Doug Beale, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Samuel Sharp hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. A collision led to Stubbington FC getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Dan Phippard hit a great ball.
