Özgür Kilic didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Preston North End. Preston North End's Drew Forster got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Özgür Kilic made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nathanial Pilgrim in the 9th minute of play. Özgür Kilic didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Drew Forster went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 16 minutes into the match, Owlham Athletic's goal looked a bit too open when Nathanial Pilgrim came free, but Özgür Kilic reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Preston North End booed when Owlham Athletic was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Graeme Ploughman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Özgür Kilic showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Drew Forster, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Özgür Kilic made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Drew Forster in the 23rd minute of play. Drew Forster scored 0-2 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Özgür Kilic, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Özgür Kilic showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nathanial Pilgrim, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Özgür Kilic made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dale Wilmott in the 39th minute of play. When Preston North End's Nathanial Pilgrim in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Owlham Athletic's goalie prevented a goal. In the 41st match minute, Preston North End was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rupert Hayes to maneuver through the defense. Drew Forster succeeded in the game's 47th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Drew Forster stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th play minute Nathanial Pilgrim came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Özgür Kilic. 0-4. After a defensive mix-up in Owlham Athletic's zone, Drew Forster stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Özgür Kilic came out of the goal and Drew Forster tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lawrence Sheringham's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Özgür Kilic firmly grabbed it by the left post. Özgür Kilic made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nathanial Pilgrim in the 72nd minute. Drew Forster sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 76 minutes, Nathanial Pilgrim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Preston North End's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nathanial Pilgrim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nathanial Pilgrim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nathanial Pilgrim could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Özgür Kilic made a huge save. Nathanial Pilgrim blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Özgür Kilic having to make a save. Preston North End's Drew Forster got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the final whistle sounded Preston North End left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Owlham Athletic.
