Darren Ball kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Seth Simms showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rio McGrath in the 12th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the match, Southbourne's goalkeeper Marty Eastwood had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Calum Wicks. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Southbourne's goalkeeper Marty Eastwood, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Southbourne's defense didn't have a chance, in the 25th minute, when Calum Wicks scored to the left of an out of position Marty Eastwood, making the score, 2-0. Doug Beale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marty Eastwood having to interfere. Marty Eastwood was out of position in the 32 minute of play, and Doug Beale capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Doug Beale really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. In the 40th match minute, Southbourne was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Darren Ball to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Doug Beale managed to get in a good position for a shot. Beckton United's supporters rose to their feet, but Doug Beale was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marty Eastwood breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rio McGrath was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Doug Beale in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marty Eastwood prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 58 minutes into the match, Southbourne's goal looked a bit too open when Calum Wicks came free, but Marty Eastwood reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Seth Simms made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Ben Bannister sent off a good shot on target. Ben Bannister could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Seth Simms made a huge save. If Calum Wicks had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marty Eastwood showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Calum Wicks, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Darren Ball during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Beckton United's Calum Wicks got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 78 played minutes Southbourne got a freekick which was hit by Sean Tetley. 84 minutes into the game, one of Southbourne:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Calum Wicks might have been able to make a better finish in the 102nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marty Eastwood. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Calum Wicks ran back to his position shaking his head. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Beckton United had played much better football throughout.
