Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Phil Riad started the match with the kick off. When Westbourne United's Phil Riad in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cowplain's goalie prevented a goal. Benji Devaney kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. After 10 played minutes, Westbourne United's Dom Chalmers shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rodd Shotton came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Westbourne United reached it. Bryan Fields showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marty Preston, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. After some careless play in the Cowplain defense, Phil Riad kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rodd Shotton. The Cowplain fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rodd Shotton should have stopped the shot. 19 minutes into the game, Marty Preston recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Bryan Fields. Marty Preston showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. In the 29th minute, Eric Bellamy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match clock showed 31 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Phil Riad sped through Cowplain's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rodd Shotton. Marty Preston kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Eric Bellamy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Rodd Shotton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Westbourne United fans' excitement grew in the 45th match minute when Westbourne United's Phil Riad looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After the first half Westbourne United were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eric Davis to strike the kick off in the second half. Phil Riad fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodd Shotton having to interfere. Benji Devaney hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. When Westbourne United's Phil Riad in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cowplain's goalie prevented a goal. Phil Riad received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Rodd Shotton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 59 played minutes Cowplain got a freekick which was hit by Eric Davis. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Cowplain's goalkeeper Rodd Shotton, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With his leg Rodd Shotton managed to avoid a goal in the 67thth minute, when Westbourne United's Eric Bellamy fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Eric Bellamy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Westbourne United's supporters rose to their feet, but Eric Bellamy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodd Shotton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cowplain's Rodd Shotton proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Cowplain from getting a goal against them. Ashley Turner made a great header on Westbourne United's corner, it was just that Cowplain's Rodd Shotton managed to reach the ball for a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Phil Riad in the 78th minute of play forced Cowplain's goalkeeper Rodd Shotton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zackary Richardson scored 1-4 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rodd Shotton, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Eric Bellamy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zackary Richardson kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. In the 92nd minute Phil Riad shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodd Shotton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eric Bellamy's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rodd Shotton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eric Bellamy got free with Rodd Shotton in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Cowplain fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Westbourne United were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
