Martyn Cheeseman came out of the goal and Luke Knightley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 43 played minutes Geddington City got a freekick which was hit by Gwyn Burton. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Mickey Wardman hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Jim Rowell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Denzil Bettinson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mickey Wardman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jim Rowell having to interfere. 60 minutes into the game, Denzil Bettinson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Jim Rowell was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luke Knightley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jim Rowell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denzil Bettinson in the 71st minute of play.
