Damon Osbourne recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Marty Pyrah managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flushing's supporters rose to their feet, but Marty Pyrah was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jim Rowell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Verne Cook during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Luke Knightley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute, Marty Pyrah made a precise shot to the right of Jim Rowell. Luton Town FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. After having played for 28 minutes, Damon Osbourne managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Flushing's supporters crossed their fingers, but Damon Osbourne was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 32nd minute by Marty Pyrah got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Damon Osbourne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

When Damon Osbourne came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Flushing fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Damon Osbourne couldn't finish the play. Jim Rowell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marty Pyrah, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. A collision led to Luton Town FC getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Brad King hit a great ball. Loyd Bamford came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Luton Town FC's Brad King.
