When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Gwyn Monk put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Ethan Coote. Eric Lamb's late challenge caught a Jacob Mazon's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eric Lamb helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Witham City getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Eric Lamb hit a great ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Robert Holdroyd to strike the kick off in the second half. Gwyn Monk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Jacob Mazon's zone, Conal McCunnie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gwyn Mansell during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 66th minute, Gwyn Mansell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 68 minutes in the game Jack Ackroyd after having made a beautiful turn got a great opportunity to score and fired away a shot that went just to the left past a relieved Ethan Coote. The Jacob Mazon fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Witham City were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
