Tristram Wybrow who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 11thth minute tested the skills of Johnny Apsden when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 12th minute, one of STEAUA BUCURESTI:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for STEAUA BUCURESTI. Adrian Myers stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Reggie Younger's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. After a defensive mix-up in STEAUA BUCURESTI's zone, Reggie Younger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adrian Myers came out of the goal and Reggie Younger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Reggie Younger blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adrian Myers having to make a save. If Reggie Younger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the STEAUA BUCURESTI defense, Dale Rundell kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Adrian Myers. The STEAUA BUCURESTI fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Adrian Myers should have stopped the shot. After having played for 34 minutes, Dale Rundell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bolton Wanderers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dale Rundell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Adrian Myers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reggie Younger, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. If Mitch Barber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 42nd minute, Dale Rundell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Reggie Younger blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adrian Myers having to make a save. Adrian Myers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dale Rundell in the 47th minute of the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mitch Barber made a kick off. STEAUA BUCURESTI's Adrian Myers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reggie Younger in the 57th minute of play. 62 minutes into the match, STEAUA BUCURESTI's goalkeeper Adrian Myers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dale Rundell. With an all-out effort, Bolton Wanderers's Adrian Myers threw himself towards the right post 68 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Reggie Younger, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 69 minutes into the match, Bolton Wanderers's Dale Rundell sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adrian Myers narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Devon Nelson kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Dale Rundell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dion Bartlett in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adrian Myers saved STEAUA BUCURESTI from getting behind.
