Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Roy Runberg kicked off to start the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roy Runberg in the 5th minute of play forced Achilles FC's goalkeeper Kurt Corbett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Harvey Townson came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Elstree Brigades F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Harvey Townson couldn't finish the play. Lewis Hamilton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kurt Corbett having to interfere. After 14 played minutes Elstree Brigades F.C got a freekick which was hit by Lewis Hamilton. Vic Edwards's late challenge caught a Elstree Brigades F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vic Edwards helped the player get up and apologised. After 18 played minutes Achilles FC got a freekick which was hit by Vic Edwards. Roy Runberg took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kurt Corbett. Kurt Corbett dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Gavin Cornforth kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. If Roy Runberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vic Edwards made a kick off. Achilles FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 55th minute, when Roy Runberg scored to the left of an out of position Kurt Corbett, making the score, 0-3. In the 57th minute, Silvester Chilton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With an all-out effort, Elstree Brigades F.C's Kurt Corbett threw himself towards the right post 62 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Roy Runberg, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Roy Runberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Kurt Corbett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Bob Mason came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Achilles FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bob Mason couldn't finish the play. After having played for 78 minutes, Harvey Townson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Elstree Brigades F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Harvey Townson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Roy Runberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Lewis Hamilton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Elstree Brigades F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Lewis Hamilton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kurt Corbett breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 89th minute, Roy Runberg reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Kurt Corbett. The goal made the score 0-5. Elstree Brigades F.C's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
