Nicky Beattie came out of the goal and Daniel Phimister tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Derby United's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Sammy Milburn 5 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. When Eric Button fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Derby United's protests and gave Eric Button a yellow card for diving instead. In the 12th minute, Eric Button hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 16 minutes into the match, Nat Corrigan notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Derby United's Wally Findley. Wally Findley was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 20 minutes into the match, Bin Bits's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Phimister came free, but Nicky Beattie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 24 played minutes Derby United got a freekick which was hit by Eric Button. The audience was convinced that Sammy Milburn's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wally Findley was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Nicky Beattie didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Johnny Coombe went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charlie Graydon in the 34th minute of play forced Bin Bits's goalkeeper Nicky Beattie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Bin Bits's Sacha Hardwick got a free kick in the 35th minute. In the 37th match minute, Bin Bits was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sacha Hardwick to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Daniel Phimister managed to get in a good position for a shot. Derby United's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Phimister was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicky Beattie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 39 minutes into the match, Bin Bits's goal looked a bit too open when Charlie Graydon came free, but Nicky Beattie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Charlie Graydon hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. In the 46th minute, Johnny Coombe left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Derby United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Sammy Milburn made the kick off in the second half. Charlie Graydon kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. If Sammy Milburn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Derby United's Reggie Newland got a free kick in the 56th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simon Carey in the 57th minute of play forced Derby United's goalkeeper Wally Findley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 59th minute Stan Nicholson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicky Beattie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 61st play minutes Sammy Milburn shot 3-2, a short shot which went by Wally Findley and just under the crossbar into goal. Sammy Milburn took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wally Findley. Wally Findley dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. In the 69th minute Sammy Milburn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wally Findley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicky Beattie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johnny Coombe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Phimister got free with Nicky Beattie in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nicky Beattie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Johnny Coombe, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Derby United's Wally Findley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sammy Milburn in the 92nd minute of play. Wally Findley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sacha Hardwick in the 93rd minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Bin Bits had won after a very even match.
