Bryan Dowrick hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eric Cusack in the 8th minute of play forced Cambridge City's goalkeeper Dean Paterson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peter Rice in the 12th minute of play forced Horfield's goalkeeper Cliff Blower to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ryan Hislop in the 14th minute of play forced Cambridge City's goalkeeper Dean Paterson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peter Rice hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Jeffrey Gilroy's late challenge caught a Horfield's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jeffrey Gilroy helped the player get up and apologised. Cambridge City:s Dean Paterson showed great skill when he stopped Eric Cusack:s penalty. Dean Paterson was out of position in the 29 minute of play, and Eric Cusack capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Eric Cusack really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. If Peter Rice had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 39 minutes into the match, Horfield's goal looked a bit too open when Darren Fearns came free, but Cliff Blower reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dean Paterson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from William Carter, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Dean Paterson came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Horfield's Ryan Hislop. But to his dismay, Ryan Hislop quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ryan Hislop stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jeffrey Gilroy hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. If Peter Rice had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After recieving a nice pass, Cambridge City's Callum Hill tried to score from far away in the 60th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Cambridge City's Nat Pollock got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Nat Pollock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nat Pollock succeeded in the game's 66th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-1. 70 minutes into the game, Albert Workman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Dean Paterson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 72nd minute, Jeffrey Gilroy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ryan Hislop in the 73rd minute of play forced Cambridge City's goalkeeper Dean Paterson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peter Rice in the 82nd minute of play forced Horfield's goalkeeper Cliff Blower to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Horfield's Timothy Ferrell got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Cliff Blower showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nat Pollock, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. In the 93rd minute, Nat Pollock ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cliff Blower was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. When the referee blew the final whistle, Horfield could leave the field as winners, despite Cambridge City having more of the ball for most of the match.
