In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Telford's goalkeeper Trevor Blackburn, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. FC Kennington's Damion Easton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johnnie Howard in the 34th minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, FC Kennington's goal looked a bit too open when Johnnie Howard came free, but Damion Easton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daryl Pilkington's late challenge caught a Telford's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. FC Kennington's players were relieved. With a little luck, FC Kennington's Damion Easton got control of the ball when Lance Apsden tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Niall Young came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the FC Kennington fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Niall Young couldn't finish the play. If Lance Apsden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, FC Kennington's Damion Easton got control of the ball when Lance Apsden tried to sneak it across the goal line.
