Vinnie Cole didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arsenal. Lennie Hammett received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bobby Halloran came out and tried to block the shot, but Lennie Hammett slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 17th minute. Arsenal's defense didn't have a chance, in the 21st minute, when Jim Goodfellow scored to the left of an out of position Bobby Halloran, making the score, 3-0. 24 minutes into the match, Arsenal's goalkeeper Bobby Halloran had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lennie Hammett. The crowd rose to their feet as Worcester Park's Miles Chilton slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bobby Halloran. That made the score 4-0 after 27 minutes of play. 30 minutes into the match, Arsenal's goal looked a bit too open when Jim Goodfellow came free, but Bobby Halloran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bobby Halloran made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lennie Hammett in the 32nd minute. In the 35th minute Jim Goodfellow shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bobby Halloran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, Lennie Hammett had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bobby Halloran. Bobby Halloran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orson Gayle in the 40th minute of the match. Arsenal's Bobby Halloran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miles Chilton in the 41st minute of play. Gav Lester received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Vinnie Cole tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Den Burns might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vinnie Cole. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Den Burns ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Arsenal's Bobby Halloran got control of the ball when Lennie Hammett tried to sneak it across the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jim Goodfellow was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Worcester Park's Lennie Hammett nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bobby Halloran made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. Vance Eldridge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bobby Halloran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miles Chilton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jim Goodfellow received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Bobby Halloran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bobby Halloran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jim Goodfellow, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. 66 minutes into the game, Worcester Park's Jim Goodfellow nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bobby Halloran made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. Jim Goodfellow got in the 75th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Bobby Halloran handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. 79 minutes into the game, Den Burns recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Vinnie Cole. Den Burns showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 8-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jim Goodfellow in the 83rd minute of play forced Arsenal's goalkeeper Bobby Halloran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th minute Jim Goodfellow shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bobby Halloran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 85th minute, Johnathan Banks hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bobby Halloran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jim Goodfellow in the 87th minute of the match. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
