An unexpectedly hard shot by Max Scriven in the 12th minute of play forced rebels's goalkeeper Benjamin Redwood-Turner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brian Browne who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 15thth minute tested the skills of Cody Theobold when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 20 minutes had been played when some careless play by rebels's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Marek Styles was slow to take the kick. During this time Wigan's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Wigan's Marek Styles to fire away a dangerous shot which Benjamin Redwood-Turner despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling James Willmott in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benjamin Redwood-Turner prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Benjamin Redwood-Turner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Max Scriven in the 25th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the game, Brian Browne was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. rebels's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wigan the free kick. In the 31st match minute, rebels was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brian Browne to maneuver through the defense. 32 minutes into the match, rebels's goal looked a bit too open when Max Scriven came free, but Benjamin Redwood-Turner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Brian Browne made the kick off in the second half. In the 54thth minute of the game Max Scriven who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but rebels's Benjamin Redwood-Turner was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 57 minutes into the game, Brian Browne cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Cody Theobold was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 62 minutes into the game, Shawn Easton cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. After having played for 88 minutes, Philip Hanson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. rebels's supporters crossed their fingers, but Philip Hanson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 93rd minute Shawn Easton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cody Theobold saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Shawn Easton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Wigan's Marek Styles got a free kick in the 98th minute. The Wigan players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented rebels from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
