An unexpectedly hard shot by Joey Spencer in the 4th minute of play forced Arsenal's goalkeeper Bobby Halloran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Archway's Dominic Sheridan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Archway from getting a goal against them. Jimmy Wilmott received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Dominic Sheridan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bobby Halloran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joey Spencer in the 19th minute of play. 27 minutes into the game, Joey Spencer cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Bobby Halloran was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Gav Lester had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dominic Sheridan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jimmy Wilmott in the 36th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joey Spencer made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Arsenal's goal looked a bit too open when Joey Spencer came free, but Bobby Halloran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 54th minute, Arsenal's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jay Meadowcroft fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When Jimmy Wilmott came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Arsenal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jimmy Wilmott couldn't finish the play. In the 63rd minute Gav Lester shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dominic Sheridan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 68 played minutes Archway got a freekick which was hit by Ty Hindmarsh. Jimmy Wilmott sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 77 minutes into the match, Arsenal's goalkeeper Bobby Halloran had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jay Meadowcroft. Dominic Sheridan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gav Lester in the 82nd minute of play. When Jimmy Wilmott came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Arsenal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jimmy Wilmott couldn't finish the play. Ty Hindmarsh took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bobby Halloran. Bobby Halloran dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jay Meadowcroft got free with Bobby Halloran in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the final whistle went the supporters of Archway were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Arsenal side.
