Diably Podlaskie's Drew Millman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Des Theobold in the 4th minute of play. If Nath Campbell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 10 minutes, Des Theobold managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. London Colney's supporters crossed their fingers, but Des Theobold was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 12th minute Franz Waltham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mick Dransfield saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Shane Henwood hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Franz Waltham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Mick Dransfield tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Franz Waltham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When London Colney's Des Theobold in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Diably Podlaskie's goalie prevented a goal. Mick Dransfield showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Franz Waltham, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. After having played for 32 minutes, Nath Campbell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Diably Podlaskie's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nath Campbell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Drew Millman came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by London Colney's Des Theobold. But to his dismay, Des Theobold quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Franz Waltham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nath Campbell succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 40th playminute. In the 43rd minute of the match, Franz Waltham tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Mick Dransfield saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Franz Waltham stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Vic Lomas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Drew Millman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Terry Winterbottom hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. 65 minutes into the match, London Colney's goal looked a bit too open when Nath Campbell came free, but Mick Dransfield reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Vic Lomas managed to get in a good position for a shot. London Colney's supporters rose to their feet, but Vic Lomas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Drew Millman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Franz Waltham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Des Theobold sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Franz Waltham struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Mick Dransfield didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Diably Podlaskie. Guy Philips's late challenge caught a Diably Podlaskie's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Guy Philips helped the player get up and apologised. Diably Podlaskie's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
