After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Laurence Hill managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ferndown Foxes FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Laurence Hill was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guy Gerrard breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Piers Pell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Dean Tabb tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 16 played minutes Radcliffe-on-Trent got a freekick which was hit by Ollie Hellen. Radcliffe-on-Trent's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leroy Percival was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Noel Budden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dean Tabb made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jo Palmer in the 34th minute of play. Loyd Scrivener received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Guy Gerrard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Ferndown Foxes FC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Harvey Vaughan hit a great ball. Ferndown Foxes FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Jo Palmer 42 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-1. 45 minutes into the game, Sly Lawton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Radcliffe-on-Trent's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ferndown Foxes FC the free kick. After 45 played minutes Radcliffe-on-Trent got a freekick which was hit by Sly Lawton. If Norman Dines had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Loyd Scrivener was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Radcliffe-on-Trent's goal looked a bit too open when Laurence Hill came free, but Guy Gerrard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guy Gerrard was out of position in the 56 minute of play, and Loyd Scrivener capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Loyd Scrivener really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. In the 61st minute Sly Lawton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dean Tabb saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jeff Mellon during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A hard shot 65 in the game by Loyd Scrivener from a close distance when the talented Guy Gerrard managed to make a qualified save. Radcliffe-on-Trent's players were relieved. Ferndown Foxes FC's Dean Tabb played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ollie Hellen in the 68th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 70 minutes, Laurence Hill took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Guy Gerrard to make any attempt to save it. Lee Wilkins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Dean Tabb tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Loyd Scrivener struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Guy Gerrard didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ferndown Foxes FC. If Loyd Scrivener had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Radcliffe-on-Trent's Guy Gerrard got control of the ball when Loyd Scrivener tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lee Wilkins scored 3-3 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dean Tabb, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harvey Vaughan in the 85th minute of play forced Radcliffe-on-Trent's goalkeeper Guy Gerrard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 87 minutes into the match, Radcliffe-on-Trent's goal looked a bit too open when Harvey Vaughan came free, but Guy Gerrard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dean Tabb didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lee Wilkins went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-3 was the resulting score. Dean Tabb showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jo Palmer, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. In the 92nd match minute, Ferndown Foxes FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laurence Hill to maneuver through the defense. In the 94th minute, Laurence Hill hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dean Tabb made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lee Wilkins in the 95th minute of play. Many of Ferndown Foxes FC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ferndown Foxes FC may have spent more time on the ball, but Radcliffe-on-Trent were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
