An unexpectedly hard shot by Glenn Stansfield in the 9th minute of play forced Legia Warsaw's goalkeeper Junior Borrowdale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Junior Borrowdale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stewart Newbury, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Tommy Potterton fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Swansea City FC's protests and gave Tommy Potterton a yellow card for diving instead. Tommy Potterton kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the match, Legia Warsaw's Alex Osborn broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 20th minute of the match, Martyn Baxter tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Drew Blackhurst saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Swansea City FC's Drew Blackhurst proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Swansea City FC from getting a goal against them. Drew Blackhurst took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martyn Baxter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Glenn Stansfield in the 28th minute of play forced Legia Warsaw's goalkeeper Junior Borrowdale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luke Blakeley during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Martyn Baxter in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Drew Blackhurst saved Swansea City FC from getting behind. In the 47th play minute Johnathan Cutts came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Drew Blackhurst. 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Martyn Baxter to make the kick off. Johnathan Cutts struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Drew Blackhurst didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Legia Warsaw. With an all-out effort, Swansea City FC's Junior Borrowdale threw himself towards the right post 63 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Stewart Newbury, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 64th match minute, Legia Warsaw was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christopher Hay to maneuver through the defense. Junior Borrowdale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stewart Newbury in the 65th minute of the match. Junior Borrowdale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stewart Newbury, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stewart Newbury fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Junior Borrowdale having to interfere. In the 69th minute, Glenn Stansfield got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Glenn Stansfield kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Martyn Baxter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Johnathan Cutts managed to get in a good position for a shot. Legia Warsaw's supporters rose to their feet, but Johnathan Cutts was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Drew Blackhurst breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpected shot in the 81st minute by Glenn Stansfield got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Glenn Stansfield recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tommy Potterton in the 88th minute of play forced Legia Warsaw's goalkeeper Junior Borrowdale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Drew Blackhurst showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martyn Baxter, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. If Glenn Stansfield had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Drew Blackhurst showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martyn Baxter in the 94th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 96 minutes, Junior Borrowdale successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Glenn Stansfield was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 97th minute. Swansea City FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance.
