Legia Warsaw's supporters crossed their fingers, but Martyn Baxter was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Miles Renner was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 13 minutes into the match. In the 13th minute, one of Daventry AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Daventry AFC. George Crossley charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed George Crossley the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 17th minute, George Crossley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Junior Borrowdale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dean Higgins in the 19th minute of the match. Johnathan Cutts in the 22ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Christopher Stevens, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 23 minutes into the game, Johnathan Cutts recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Christopher Stevens. Johnathan Cutts showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Dean Higgins might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Junior Borrowdale. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dean Higgins ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 33rd match minute, Legia Warsaw was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Osborn to maneuver through the defense. In the 35thth minute of the game Dean Higgins who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Legia Warsaw's Junior Borrowdale was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dean Higgins in the 38th minute of play forced Legia Warsaw's goalkeeper Junior Borrowdale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dean Higgins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Junior Borrowdale having to interfere. In the 43rd minute, Martyn Baxter reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Christopher Stevens. The goal made the score 3-1. Luke Blakeley hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. A collision led to Legia Warsaw getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Oliver Budge hit a great ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dean Higgins to make the kick off. In the 54th minute Johnathan Cutts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christopher Stevens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brian Rutherford during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 55th minute of the game. One of Daventry AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Legia Warsaw:s goal. Alex Osborn walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. When Legia Warsaw's Johnathan Cutts in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Daventry AFC's goalie prevented a goal. Christopher Stevens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Johnathan Cutts, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. If Martyn Baxter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Johnathan Cutts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johnathan Cutts in the 70th minute of play forced Daventry AFC's goalkeeper Christopher Stevens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christopher Stevens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martyn Baxter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Martyn Baxter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Christopher Stevens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 87th minute, Martyn Baxter ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Christopher Stevens was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. Junior Borrowdale made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dean Higgins in the 91st minute. After a rather tough play, Legia Warsaw's Christopher Hay got a free kick in the 95th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Callum Hartson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Daventry AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Callum Hartson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Junior Borrowdale breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dean Higgins could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 99th minute of the match, but Junior Borrowdale made a huge save.
