Spectators: 7496 (Terracing: 5623, Seating: 1724, VIP seats: 149) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Jo Palmer made the kick off which started today's match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jo Palmer in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Christopher Stevens prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 20 minutes into the match, Daventry AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Lee Wilkins came free, but Christopher Stevens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ollie Hellen during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 24th minute, Ollie Hellen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dean Higgins struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Guy Gerrard didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Daventry AFC. Jo Palmer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Radcliffe-on-Trent getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Sly Lawton hit a great ball. Christopher Stevens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lee Wilkins, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Lee Wilkins recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jo Palmer in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Christopher Stevens saved Daventry AFC from getting behind. If Sly Lawton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lewis Simms to strike the kick off in the second half. If Jo Palmer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 59 minutes, Ollie Hellen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Radcliffe-on-Trent's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ollie Hellen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lee Wilkins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Christopher Stevens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 71 minutes into the match, Lee Wilkins notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Daventry AFC's Christopher Stevens. Christopher Stevens was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 77 minutes, Lewis Simms managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Daventry AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lewis Simms was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Lewis Simms had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jo Palmer got free with Christopher Stevens in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Guy Gerrard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dean Higgins, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Radcliffe-on-Trent's Guy Gerrard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dean Higgins in the 92nd minute of play. 95 minutes into the match, Lewis Simms notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Radcliffe-on-Trent's Guy Gerrard. Guy Gerrard was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jo Palmer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christopher Stevens having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Radcliffe-on-Trent players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
