Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Zulu Army's Richie Pearch started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donald Ellison in the 4th minute of play forced Zulu Army's goalkeeper Steve Bridgeman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Donald Ellison fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steve Bridgeman having to interfere. In the 10th minute, Jeremy Woodford got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brandon Dry during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 12th minute, Brandon Dry hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Steve Bridgeman acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 13th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Keanu Coulshaw. After 15 played minutes Zulu Army got a freekick which was hit by Frank Leslie. Donald Ellison received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Steve Bridgeman came out and tried to block the shot, but Donald Ellison slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 19th minute. The supporters of Zulu Army booed when Bourne was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Keanu Coulshaw didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Jeremy Woodford had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 26th minute, Malcolm McAleer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee gave Zulu Army a penalty, 32 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Martyn Young, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Bourne's Benjamin Featherstone. 1-1. Richie Pearch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin Featherstone having to interfere. After recieving a nice pass, Bourne's Keanu Coulshaw tried to score from far away in the 45th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Donald Ellison stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jeremy Woodford received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Steve Bridgeman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zulu Army's Steve Bridgeman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeremy Woodford in the 67th minute of play. Jeremy Woodford sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Malcolm McAleer during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Zulu Army getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Malcolm McAleer hit a great ball. Jeremy Woodford sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Donald Ellison had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Steve Bridgeman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donald Ellison in the 82nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hugh Corrigan got free with Benjamin Featherstone in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
