Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Dave Markinson got the match started through his kick off. In the 5th minute, Dave Markinson fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Martyn Hatcher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin Featherstone having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Liverpool FC's Dale Oliver got a free kick in the 6th minute. After 7th play minutes Jeremy Woodford shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Eddy Sheppard and just under the crossbar into goal. Jeremy Woodford received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Eddy Sheppard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eddy Sheppard showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donald Ellison in the 12th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gary Story-Moore during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Benjamin Featherstone, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Craig Connell hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. In the 38th match minute, Bourne was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Graham Elliott to maneuver through the defense. Dave Markinson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Donald Ellison was the one to do the kick off. Jeremy Woodford fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eddy Sheppard having to interfere. Bruce Lamb charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bruce Lamb the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 53rd minute, Bruce Lamb hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eddy Sheppard made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jeremy Woodford in the 54th minute. 57 minutes into the game, Martyn Hatcher cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Benjamin Featherstone was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dave Markinson in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benjamin Featherstone saved Bourne from getting behind. If Martyn Hatcher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 69 minutes into the match, Liverpool FC's Dave Markinson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benjamin Featherstone narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Martyn Hatcher in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benjamin Featherstone saved Bourne from getting behind. Dave Markinson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benjamin Featherstone read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Bourne's Benjamin Featherstone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dave Markinson in the 75th minute of play. If Martyn Hatcher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dave Markinson in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benjamin Featherstone prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 84 minutes, Teddy Sparks mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bourne and the Liverpool FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Bourne's Teddy Sparks got a free kick in the 85th minute. Benjamin Featherstone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dave Markinson in the 89th minute of play. 93 minutes into the match, Bourne's goal looked a bit too open when Martyn Hatcher came free, but Benjamin Featherstone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 95th minute Dave Markinson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin Featherstone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
