The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerry Whitmore in the 8th minute of play forced Zulu Army's goalkeeper Steve Bridgeman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 9 minutes of play, Leeds City FC's Jools Symons made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Steve Bridgeman was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Jools Symons had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Frank Leslie fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zulu Army's protests and gave Frank Leslie a yellow card for diving instead. Frank Leslie hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. The supporters of Leeds City FC booed when Zulu Army was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brandon Dry didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Jools Symons came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Leeds City FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jools Symons couldn't finish the play. Steve Bridgeman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jools Symons, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 25 minutes into the match, Zulu Army's goal looked a bit too open when Rio Buckley came free, but Steve Bridgeman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jools Symons fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steve Bridgeman having to interfere. In the 73rdth minute of the game Richie Pearch who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Leeds City FC's Austen Speight was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A very good chance. 78 minutes into the match, Leeds City FC's Jools Symons sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Steve Bridgeman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 90 minutes, Andre Pearce mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Leeds City FC and the Zulu Army players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Zulu Army booed when Leeds City FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andre Pearce didn't get a good kick on the ball. Steve Bridgeman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andre Pearce in the 93rd minute. When the final whistle sounded Leeds City FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Zulu Army.
