Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Richie Pearch got the match started through his kick off. If Freddie Hatcher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zulu Army's Steve Bridgeman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Zulu Army from getting a goal against them. Steve Bridgeman came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Border Jets FC's Freddie Hatcher. But to his dismay, Freddie Hatcher quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Freddie Hatcher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steve Bridgeman having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Ozzy Parkinson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Border Jets FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ozzy Parkinson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Steve Bridgeman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Border Jets FC's Philip Barratt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martyn Young in the 23rd minute of play. The supporters of Border Jets FC booed when Zulu Army was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugh Corrigan didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Freddie Hatcher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Zulu Army's zone, Ozzy Parkinson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Steve Bridgeman came out of the goal and Ozzy Parkinson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Malcolm McAleer struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Philip Barratt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zulu Army. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ozzy Parkinson made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Frank Leslie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 55 minutes into the match, Ozzy Parkinson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Steve Bridgeman. Zulu Army's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ozzy Parkinson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Zulu Army's Steve Bridgeman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Freddie Hatcher in the 60th minute of play. Steve Bridgeman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ozzy Parkinson in the 62nd minute of the match. Steve Bridgeman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ozzy Parkinson, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Ozzy Parkinson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steve Bridgeman having to interfere. 68 minutes into the match, Border Jets FC's Ozzy Parkinson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Steve Bridgeman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Steve Bridgeman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ozzy Parkinson, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Ozzy Parkinson scored 3-1 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Steve Bridgeman, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ozzy Parkinson struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Steve Bridgeman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Border Jets FC. 75 minutes into the game, Freddie Hatcher cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Steve Bridgeman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Steve Bridgeman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ozzy Parkinson's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. Philip Barratt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Brandon Dry in the 81st minute. Steve Bridgeman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ozzy Parkinson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ruben Britton might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Steve Bridgeman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ruben Britton ran back to his position shaking his head. Steve Bridgeman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ozzy Parkinson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Freddie Hatcher recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Zulu Army defense, Ozzy Parkinson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Steve Bridgeman. The Zulu Army fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Steve Bridgeman should have stopped the shot.
